My guest for this week's podcast is Ryan Cody.

Ryan is the organizer of the inaugural Arizona Comicbook Arts Festival that's taking place at the Phoenix Shrine Auditorium & Event Center on Saturday, February 25th. I never thought I'd say this, but AZCAF is cheaper than Tucson Comic Con! Click here to buy your $10 tickets.

The video chat is for paid subscribers, but you can listen to the audio for free!

Don't worry if you are watching the video but can’t listen to the music because I have you covered.

I’m trying to stick to a particular day of the week, but I’m catching up on work. I appreciate everyone’s patience and support.

Speaking of support…

Racist Gil Thorp Fans

Last week I tweeted about the racism on the GoComics comments that happen regularly. Some cartoonists were kind enough to share the post. This got the attention of Randy Milholland—famous for churning out the Popeye Sunday funnies—and his replies had more engagement than Elon Musk’s tweet on Superbowl Sunday. It’s great when folks like Jules Rivera (Mark Trail) and Randy speak up about the diehard fans that just professionally troll these strips. I hope someday GoComics implements a better flagging system to curb the homophobic, transphobic, and racist threads.

The good news is that the royalties for the strip are increasing monthly, but not big enough to retire anytime soon. I can pay some bills with it. But I hope you can give us a click every once in a while. This storyline we’re going into has been fun to flesh out.
